The Chargers’ roster and coaching staff went through some retooling this offseason, with arguably the biggest move being the hiring of Jim Harbaugh.
Los Angeles brought Harbaugh to develop a winning culture right off the bat, something he’s done at all his other coaching stops.
I’m a firm believer that he will be able to establish that starting this upcoming season. I am predicting the Bolts to finish with a 10-7 record, which is good enough to make the playoffs.
But what do the oddsmakers think?
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, L.A. has odds of -105 to play beyond the regular season.
That means if you bet $100 on the Chargers to make the playoffs, you would take home $95.24 if they did. Essentially, this is a pick ’em, as picking them not to make the playoffs is -118 odds.
Turning a bottom-of-the-barrel team into a playoff team in one offseason isn’t common. However, when you have top-end talent at various positions, including quarterback Justin Herbert, Harbaugh leading the team, and having one of the easiest schedules in the league, there’s a good chance of playing beyond the regular season.
