Chargers edge defender Khalil Mack has agreed to restructure his deal to remain on the team for 2024.
Eight-time Pro-Bowl DE and former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack will remain a Los Angeles Charger this season and free up salary-cap space for the team by agreeing to restructure his deal, per sources. Attention will turn to what exactly a restructuring entails. Technically, the Chargers are unable to push money out with Khalil Mack only having a year left on his deal. However, there are some alternatives to what “restructure” could mean for Mack outside of the traditional sense:
Possibilities for what “restructure” means w/ Khalil Mack:
A. the Chargers tacked on void years to his one year deal
B. the Chargers extended him
C. he took a paycutanyways find out next time on Dragon Ball Hortiz

So this is interesting given that 2024 is a contract year for Mack. Wonder if restructure means a paycut (unlikely given that Mack had 17 sacks last year lol), or they are adding void years to his deal (Chargers never do this) to spread out his $17.5M base salary https://t.co/MN4mW6tVj1

Attention now turns to what the Chargers decide to do with Joey Bosa and Keenan Allen after making their decisions on Mack and Williams:
Khalil Mack’s in, Mike Williams is out, and the Chargers are under the cap. So 4 p.m. is no longer a hard deadline. But two more deadlines are looming.
• DE Joey Bosa is due a $7 million roster bonus on Friday.
• WR Keenan Allen is due a $5 million roser bonus on Sunday.— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) March 13, 2024
