There is much buzz around the league that the Philadelphia Eagles could deal tight end Dallas Goedert in a trade this offseason. According to Josina Anderson on X, she’s hearing the Eagles are willing to accept at least a fourth-round pick for Goedert in a shocking twist after spending his entirety with the team. Originally selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the former South Dakota State product became an integral weapon for the Eagles breaking out in his sophomore season in 2019, recording 58 receptions for 607 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 15 games but starting nine of those matchups. Goedert was so explosive that he made veteran Zach Ertz expendable, the Eagles dealt the veteran in a trade in 2021 where Goedert had the starting job in the palm of his hands.
He had another exploding season that year but the following season is where he began to deplete. However, he was able to come back to help Jalen Hurts and the Eagles to a Super Bowl Loss but later lost to the Chiefs in 2022. The Eagles got their revenge last month but since Goedert is aging and this year’s tight-end draft class is strong, the team could consider other options. Goedert could earn himself a starting role with these three top suitors as he still has a lot of years ahead of him on a possible one-year deal as he’s already entering the final year of his current contract.

Top Three Teams
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers will need some type of new weapon next season to help 2024 draft pick Ladd McConkey in the aerial attack. While they have their eyes set on DK Metcalf for a potential trade, the team could easily pull off another one with the Eagles to bring in Dallas Goedert. Will Dissly is still a proven receiver but nowhere near on the level as Goedert has been. However, many should expect the Chargers to have competition in the tight end department as they could Goedert’s presence to move the chains.
Quarterback Justin Herbert thrives when he throws the football. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh loves the run but they can’t be a championship team if they depend on it the majority of the team. A guy like Goedert could get a fresh start with the Chargers and be a dependable upgrade for Herbert’s pass offense.
Baltimore Ravens
While the Ravens will probably keep Mark Andrews, he’s still on the back burner this season. After losing his starting job to Isaiah Likely, the Ravens should search for a new tight end in this year’s draft. However, they should take advantage of the offseason now and trade Andrews. With that, it would make room for Goedert to form a potential new tandem in Baltimore.
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers are still doing housekeeping moves for quarterback Bryce Young. Wide Receivers Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker are two promising weapons and after re-signing Tommy Tremble, the team is in good shape this season. However, they could use a veteran presence like Goedert to help Young in the aerial attack and it gives him another target while the team figures out their wideout department next offseason since Adam Thielen will probably retire after this year.
