Wearing the classic all-navy blue uniforms on Thursday night, the Chargers rolled out to a 37-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings at home in SoFi Stadium.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert scored on the opening possession of the game with a pass to Oronde Gadson for an 8-yard touchdown.
The other highlights of the Chargers’ blowout win against the Vikings came later in the 2nd quarter when Kimani Vidal scored a touchdown on the 3-yard line. The back-to-back scores marked the first time the Chargers scored touchdowns on their first two possessions in the Jim Harbaugh Era. Herbert later found his target, Ladd McConkey, for a 27-yard touchdown pass, as the Chargers rolled to 21 points in the opening half.
The Chargers’ dominant performance in the win against Minnesota really shows the resilience of the Chargers football team and how dangerous and good they can be. A handful of Chargers rookies also had big plays on Thursday night. Wide Receiver Tre Harris caught his first NFL touchdown early in the 4th quarter to increase the Chargers’ lead to 30-10 against the Vikings.
Chargers safety RJ Pickens picked off Vikings QB Carson Wentz in the 4th quarter.
The Chargers, who are currently 5-3, take on Tennessee in Nashville this Sunday.
The Chargers are looking to build off the momentum from last week’s dominating performances for this Sunday.
