The Chargers suffer another loss, losing their 2nd consecutive week.
Plus, Keenan Allen is the fastest player in history to reach a certain number of catches.
After getting a first loss of the season in New York against the Giants, the Chargers came back home to take on Washington, hoping to rebound and get back in the win column.
Unfortunately, bad defense and miscommunications led to a 27-10 loss at home to the Washington Commanders.
Here are the 2 big takeaways of the Chargers’ loss to Washington.
1) Poor Defensive Showing
The Chargers’ defense failed to contain Deebo Samuel, who had 8 catches for 96 yards.
The Chargers’ defense also struggled in zone coverage in the loss against Washington.
2) Miscommunication
The two losses the Chargers had were not only due to the defense problem, but also to too many penalties. Los Angeles committed 10 penalties, including two consecutive flags on a hobbled Pipkins that negated back-to-back Herbert missiles that would have put the Chargers in a reasonable position to make a scoring run.
Chargers WR Keenan Allen made history last week. He became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 1,000 career catches.
Allen became the 16th player in NFL history to reach that milestone and now resides at No.15 with 1,003 career catches.
The Chargers are hoping to turn things around this week against the Miami Dolphins.
