The Los Angeles Chargers 2025 free agent signing period may not have been the flashiest, but it got the job done, now that we have hindsight after seeing the immense job the Chargers did in the 2025 NFL Draft.
With all of these new shiny toys, it’s fun to predict how well they are going to do in Los Angeles.
Predicting The Stats For All The Chargers 2025 Free Agent Signings
RG, Mekhi Becton – The Big Fish Chargers Free Agent
Mekhi Becton was the big fish Chargers free agent get of the entire offseason, allowing for Chargers fans to be extremely excited about his impact on this Chargers 2025 offense.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- 15 Games Started
- Pro-Bowl Caliber Season
- Leads Chargers Interior Offensive Line To League Average
RB, Najee Harris – The Efficiency Breakout Season?
Najee Harris was a divisive free-agent pickup for the Chargers as he was seemingly overheated during his time with the Steelers. Harris, dubbed the sub-3 Yards Per Carry king, found his place in Pittsburgh to be unfit. He now signs with the Chargers to unlock some of his untapped potential, even with Omarion Hampton in the room.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- 230 Carries
- 1,012 Yards (4.4 YPC)
- 12 Catches, 105 Yards
- Most Efficient Season Under Jim Harbaugh
CB, Donte Jackson – Chargers Free Agent Perfect Fit
Continuing the theme of taking former Steelers, the Chargers upgraded at Corner, hoping to get the most out of the former second-round pick, Donte Jackson. The speedy CB has shown much promise in zone coverage and has been a borderline CB1 his entire career. Under Minter, he could very well fit in the zone coverage schemes he deploys.
It should be noted that Minter was unable to utilize much man coverage last season due to personnel, but was a man coverage user during his Michigan days.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- 65 Tackles
- 3 Interceptions
- 15 Games
- 3 TFLs
TE, Tyler Conklin – Much Needed Chargers Free Agent Add
The Chargers were really fortunate to land Tyler Conklin in free agency, as the options were drying up quickly, and possible trade candidates were not being moved. In the 2025 NFL Draft, the Chargers were able to add Oronde Gadsden II, but as a developmental rookie, Conklin will still play the majority of the snaps, becoming a much-needed, reliable receiver for Justin Herbert and the offense.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- 16 Games
- 550 Yards
- 5 Touchdowns
- Reliable Veteran Receiver
WR, Mike Williams – Reunion!

Mike Williams comes back with the Chargers after an unfortunate season with the Jets and Steelers. He was constantly thrown under the bus and given poor play with his quarterbacks. This is all after returning from a torn ACL. Now back with the Chargers, Williams looks to bounce back and become another reliable asset for Herbert and company.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- 40 Catches
- 550 Yards
- 7 Touchdowns
- 13 Games, eventually allowing room for Tre Harris to start
C, Andre James – Much Needed Competition
When Andre James was initially signed, Chargers fans were ecstatic, hoping he would replace the then newly re-signed Bradley Bozeman. Unfortunately, it does not seem that will happen as Head Coach Jim Harbaugh is constantly praising Bozeman and his abilities. Either way, James will provide much-needed depth and competition, allowing for the best man to win.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- 7 Games Started, After Injury/Performance Issues from the IOL
- Pass Blocking Aficionado
- Lackluster Run Blocking
EDGE, Da’Shawn Hand – Another Interior Presence
With Morgan Fox, Poona Ford, and Scott Matlock likely moving his focus mainly to offense, new blood was needed in the room. Furthermore, Da’Shawn Hand has been an underrated pickup for the Bolts, providing a specific body type that is unique and a fit for Minter’s defensive scheme.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- 30 Tackles
- 15 Pressures
- 3 Sacks
- 5 TFLs
- 2 Pass Deflections
- Allows Justin Eboigbe and Jamaree Caldwell to develop
IDL, Naquan Jones – Possible Breakout
Naquan Jones is an exciting addition for the Chargers as he is still young and developing, plus the promise he has shown in his previous stop in Arizona. If Jones can continue to develop under Minter, expecting a breakout for the pass-rushing nose tackle is not far-fetched.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- 25 Tackles
- 15 Pressures
- 4 Sacks
- 3 TFLs
- 1 Pass Deflection
- Earns another contract as a pass rush specialist
CB, Benjamin St-Juste – Strictly Depth… We Hope
Benjamin St-Juste is a very controversial figure in Washington, DC, as it seemed every fan was ready for him to leave. Now with the Chargers, St-Juste will provide size and depth for the Minter scheme, hopefully getting the most out of the former Commanders DB.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- 25 Tackles
- 3 Pass Deflections
- 1 Interception
- 1 Sack
- 3 Games Started
LB, Del’Shawn Phillips – Special Teams Ace
Del’Shawn Phillips essentially was traded for the Chargers’ former special-teams ace, Nick Niemann. They will both provide depth at LB whilst adding plenty on special teams. The former Texans linebacker will look to add more veteran leadership to the special-teams room.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- 18 Tackles
- 1 TFL
- 90% Special Teams snaps
QB, Trey Lance – Practice Squad/Trade Asset
Trey Lance was a confusing signing for the Chargers. After delving deeper into the reasoning why he was signed by the Bolts, a clearer picture was achieved. That picture painted an idea of a possible trade asset or a practice-squad mobile QB.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- If not traded, 8 games active on game day
- Mobile QB In Practice
- Preseason Standout?
LB, Kanai Mauga – Depth LB
The Chargers’ latest signee is former Raiders LB Kanai Mauga. Mauga will be fighting an uphill battle to make the roster, as the aforementioned Del’Shawn Phillips will likely take the last spot on the roster.
Chargers Stat Predictions:
- Practice squad depth
- Could be elevated for ST reasons
