It’s a pass-happy league, and a team can never have enough receivers. It seems like Ohio State has churned out NFL ready receivers at the cyclic rate, and Emeka Egbuka is the latest name in the 2025 NFL Draft. Bleacher Report’s scouting report calls Egbuka a chain-mover, and highlights his ability as a route runner. Each of these three teams could use a player like Emeka Egbuka, and should target him in the 2025 NFL draft.

Emeka Egbuka Could Interest Chiefs, Chargers, and Steelers in the 2025 NFL Draft
Emeka Egbuka Fit With the Chiefs
The Chiefs have been preparing for a future without Travis Kelce. They’ve invested heavily in receivers (Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice) and have given Noah Gray more of a role. Worthy does a great job of taking the top off a defense and brings a speed element to his designed touches. Rice, when healthy, has been a short-area winner for them with plenty of YAC ability. What the offense is missing is someone to win in the intermediate area. Emeka Egbuka is just that. He has experience both in the slot and out wide, and can win at all three levels in a way other receivers on the Chiefs can’t.
Emeka Egbuka Fit With the Chargers
While Ladd McConkey was the top dog in the offense in 2024, Egbuka’s run blocking should excite Chargers fans. His versatility can ensure he’s not redundant to McConkey, and he would provide another safe option for Justin Herbert. If he lines up out wide, he can free up Quentin Johnston for designed touches or more motion plays. If he’s in the slot while McConkey is on the sideline, he gives a little more power in the run game (McConkey has been great, but he’s a little light in the pants to seal NFL linebackers). It’s expected that Tyler Warren will be off the board, so Egbuka is a solid backup plan for the Chargers.
Emeka Egbuka Fit With the Steelers in the 2025 NFL Draft
This fit goes together unreasonably well. Egbuka was compared to Hines Ward in the Footballguys Rookie Guide, and it’s no secret the Steelers need help at receiver. George Pickens is great when he’s focused, and Calvin Austin III can take the top off of the defense, but Egbuka would immediately elevate the offense. While the quarterback question is still unanswered, the Steelers need to address their offense soon.
Other Potential Fits for Emeka Egbuka in the 2025 NFL Draft
Emeka Egbuka is firmly in first-round consideration in the 2025 NFL draft, and the back half of the first round includes some wide receiver needy teams. The Houston Texans could use a WR2 while they wait for Tank Dell to recover, especially considering Stefon Diggs is a free agent. While Tee Higgins is tagged, the Bengals still could trade him and would need a replacement. The dream for fantasy football would be the Washington Commanders at 29, where he could learn under Terry McLaurin and catch passes from Jayden Daniels.
