The Kansas City Chiefs addressed the potential of adding wide receiver Tyreek Hill this offseason through free agency, but it looks like it won’t be happening yet. Ever since the Miami Dolphins released Hill after spending the last several seasons with the team, the wideout has teased that he could be joining the Chiefs soon, and appeared to have a geotag that he’s in Kansas City. However, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid got the opportunity to address the potential rumors in the latest statement:
“I don’t know if Tyreek is healthy right now to do anything,” Reid said Friday, via Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star. “I’m sure he’s working hard on that part of it to get that straightened out.”
Andy Reid on Tyreek Hill: “I don’t know if Tyreek is healthy right now to do anything. I’m sure he’s working hard on that part of it to get that straightened out.”
Alluding to whether the Chiefs are talking to him: “There’s nothing happening there.”

“Nothing Happening” – Tyreek Hill Could Join These 3 Teams Instead
Reid isn’t committing to a promise that a Hill reunion is possible in Kansas City. Despite that, the Chiefs need some offensive help for Patrick Mahomes, who is coming off a season-ending injury last season, and he’s going to need another adequate weapon. With free agent veteran Marquise Brown and Tyquan Thornton set for the market, it’s hard to imagine they don’t re-sign them or find replacements. After restructuring Mahomes’ contract, the team has more financial flexibility to re-sign some of their talent that will become unrestricted free agents and incoming players.
For Hill, he’s coming off a torn ACL he suffered during Week 4 of the 2025 regular season, so he won’t earn the best contract on the market. Coming into his 11th season, the wide receiver should still receive plenty of interest, and these three teams could give him at least a one-year deal.
Other Possible Suitors
San Francisco 49ers
Hill will probably only play if it’s for a contender. With the 49ers entering the offseason with several questions at the receiver position, the team signing Hill might make sense on a bargain. The 49ers have Jauan Jennings, who is slated to hit the market, and they need to re-sign while planning to release Brandon Aiyuk. San Francisco should be a better team in the postseason next year if they can stay healthy and sign a few veteran playmakers that can position quarterback Brock Purdy in the right moments.
Unfortunately, despite facing multiple injuries this past 2025 campaign, the team still made it through at least the divisional round. With a healthy Purdy, George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey and Tyreek Hill, the sky is the limit for Kyle Shanahan’s offense.
Los Angeles Chargers
If everything else falls apart for Hill, he might wind up in Los Angeles. New offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel is expected to keep his eye on the receiver after spending the last few seasons with him in Miami. Due to familiarity, it shouldn’t be surprising if the Chargers sign Hill to a one-year contract. Justin Herbert is still a top 5 quarterback in this league, but he’s never had a true superstar receiver since the prime Keenan Allen and Mike Williams days.
It’s time for a true change in Los Angeles. Hill won’t be lightning in a bottle, but he could spark some excitement.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens need some momentum in their passing offense themselves. Between Rashod Bateman and Zay Flowers, the Ravens could use a new veteran receiver, so Lamar Jackson can lean on an experienced offensive weapon. Baltimore has done this with Odell Beckham Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins, but failed to go far. While the Ravens are likely to rebuild since the firing of John Harbaugh, don’t be surprised if they look into signing Hill.
