Day 1 of training camp is in the books for Jim Harbaugh and his Los Angeles Chargers. So how does he feel about the team after their first day at full-go? Harbaugh’s answer to that was one only he could give.
Speaking to reporters, Harbaugh compared it to several things – New Year’s Day, like being born and like coming out of the womb.
“Feels like New Years Day. Feels like being born. It was like coming out of the womb,” Harbaugh declared, via ESPN Chargers reporter Kris Rhim.
Yep. That’s a pretty Harbaugh-ish Harbaugh quote right there.
Chargers fans already love him for quotes like that and Michigan fans miss him for the same reason.
“Man I miss him in maize and blue,” one Wolverines fan lamented.
“I’m both jealous and happy that Chargers fans get these quotes now,” wrote another.
“Like Sisyphus rolling his rock, every day I am reminded how dispirited I am that this man is no longer my football coach,” a third wrote.
Harbaugh’s move to the Chargers marks nearly 10 years since his last NFL games with the San Francisco 49ers. He spent the last nine seasons with the Wolverines, finally leading them out of mediocrity and back to being national champions for the first time in the 21st century.
Now he’s going to try and become one of the very rare coaches to win titles in both the NFL and college.
