Five-time Pro Bowl star running back Alvin Kamara could be on the trade block this year and the Chiefs, Ravens are among the four possible destinations. According to a source, the Saints could move on from one of their best talents this season after a disastrous loss against Denver, moving them to 2-5. NFL teams are wasting no moving on from high-profile athletes as most that are trading their best players are building such as Amari Cooper and Davante Adams. After losing Derek Carr, Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, the Saints should probably waste no time moving on from Kamara since the team doesn’t have a legitimate supporting cast.
Dennis Allen is already on the hot seat and they’ll probably fire him in the next couple weeks. Kamara was once a dual-threat with Jamaal Williams for a couple of years and may not find his role anymore amid chaos. Originally selected in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Tennessee product was one of the best backfield pieces in the league but injuries have slowed him down. When healthy, the 29-year-old is capable of making a couple of slash plays and finding his holes but with an already battered offense, he probably won’t succeed under a team that might as well rebuild.
The return value for his trade won’t be rich since he has a strong injury history but they could get something rather than nothing. Kamara was visibly frustrated throughout the game and didn’t blame fans for leaving the game early.

Due to the structure of Kamara’s deal, he will be released after the season if the Saints cannot finalize an extension before free agency.

Star Pro Bowler Alvin Kamara Could Be On Trade Block, Ravens, Chiefs Among Possible Fits
Potential Trade Destinations
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens possess one of the best running games since acquiring Derrick Henry this past offseason. It was a huge investment but they could capitalize on this opportunity to get some reliable depth behind him. Kamara is still a full-time starter but he could probably benefit from being behind one of the best offensive lines and teaming with Henry. The run game is already scary since extending Justice Hill for three more years, if they acquire Kamara in a trade, this could be the crown jewel piece to their Super Bowl run.
Kansas City Chiefs
Kareem Hunt fared well in Isiah Pacheco’s absence but there’s no guarantee he will come back the same after his brutal injury. A blockbuster reinforcement like Kamara could clear all the discussion of adding a superstar receiver since missing out on Adams, Cooper and possibly more. However, Kamara can not only run the football but he’s useful when finding a quick target. The 29-year-old may be slowing down but he’s a better option than Samaje Perine and rookie Carson Steele.
Los Angeles Chargers
Jim Harbaugh might finally get his wish of running the ball more often than Justin Herbert wants. Herbert might thrive better with more reliable pass catchers but adding someone like Kamara would probably undoubtedly earn him the starting role. With Gus Edwards hurt, the Chargers run game was already average since an injury-prone J.K. Dobbins probably won’t give Harbaugh what he wants. However, the team must surround Herbert with some superstar talent to dethrone the Chiefs in the AFC and that could only happen with at least a blockbuster acquisition like Kamara.
Dallas Cowboys
This destination sounds too good to be true considering the team hasn’t been wanting to improve their roster despite proclaiming they’re going “all in.” However, the Cowboys have one of the worst running backs even after signing Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook. These two are way past their prime but Cook still hasn’t got an opportunity to shine. Rico Dowdle leads this team but he hasn’t done much but a couple of flashes. Kamara may be slowing down too but his ability to gain yardage and make a small play explosive is still there.
