With Brown, Worthy, and Rashee Rice, the Chiefs suddenly had one of the league’s better wide receiver trios. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse.
Brown suffered a potential season-ending shoulder injury during the preseason, and Rice suffered a possible season-ending ACL tear after an accidental collision with Patrick Mahomes following an interception. Now, the Chiefs will likely look to add another wide receiver, with their two top options likely missing the entire season. After earning a roster spot, he was assigned kickoff return duties and used as a jet sweep and gadget player during the Bears’ Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans. Unfortunately, a muffed kickoff return led to him being benched, and he has been a healthy scratch for the last three games. A fresh start with a new team could help Jones Jr. get his career back on track.
Though Jones Jr. has all the physical tools to become an offensive weapon, it hasn’t fully clicked for him with the Bears. If a team like the Chiefs or Chargers were to trade for him and maximize his potential, he could become a key piece of their offense.
