Justin Herbert returned to the practice field on Thursday with a heavily-taped ankle.
After sitting out of Wednesday’s practice, Justin Herbert returned to the field for the Chargers on Thursday with a limited tag. He was seen warming up on the field with a heavily-taped ankle and I would surprised if that wasn’t the case through Sunday’s game against the Steelers.
As for other players that saw an upgrade in status from the first to second practice of the week, Ja’Sir Taylor went from DNP to limited on Thursday while he rehabs a fibula injury. As expected, Khalil Mack returned to a full practice load after being limited on Wednesday due to a veteran’s rest day.

For a second consecutive practice, Junior Colson (hamstring), Bud Dupree (illness), and Joshua Palmer (elbow/calf) were all absent.
Alohi Gilman (knee), Joey Bosa (hip), and Hayden Hurst (ankle) were all listed as limited participants on Thursday, as well. They’ll all have one more day to see their state improve ahead of Sunday’s game in Pittsburgh.
