Rutgers cornerback Eric Rogers has garnered interest from the Chargers and several other teams in recent weeks, including the Ravens and Giants.
The Chargers signed veterans Donte Jackson and Benjamin St-Juste during the first week of free agency to pair with youngsters Tarheeb Still and Cam Hart. That’s a fair quartet to begin the year with, but the Chargers should not be satisfied with the depth at such an important position. Ja’Sir Taylor and Deane Leonard are still on the team, but they’re from the previous regime and Jim Harbaugh likely wants to keep bringing in players that fit his image.
Per a recent interview done by The Draft Network’s Justin Melo, the Chargers have reportedly shown interest in former Rutgers cornerback Eric Rogers. At his recent pro day, Rogers impressed in front of scouts with an elite 6.84 in the three-cone drill. Other numbers noted by Melo were a broad jump at 10’3” and a 40 time that ranged from the mid to late 4.5s.
