The Chargers got strong defensive games from Teair Tart and Tuli Tuipulotu against the Saints.
A lot of role players played impactful games for the Chargers in their 26-8 win over the Saints.
Let’s go ahead and just dive right in to see how this week’s snaps were given out.
Offense
Scott Matlock saw 27 snaps on offense which is a season high. Same goes with Eric Tomlinson who racked up 25 snaps on a day where the Chargers went heavy in their personnel quite often.
Simi Fehoko led all receivers in snaps which is likely due to his ability as a run blocker. Joshua Palmer played one less snap than Fehoko while Ladd McConkey was third in snaps for wideouts. Jalen Reagor played a season high snaps for the Chargers with 20.
Defense
Daiyan Henley and Derwin James were the iron men for the Chargers this week as both played every snap for the defense on Sunday. Rookie Cam Hart played all but one, which is an excellent sign for the rookie that he’s getting the system down and hasn’t had to come off for any reason.
Defensive tackle Teair Tart played a season-high 20 snaps and had one of his best games of the year. He drew a holding penalty with an explosive get-off against a Saints guard and was stout against the run.
Joey Bosa saw just 20 snaps before he left the game with an apparent injury.
Special Teams
Nick Niemann and Dicaprio Bootle were both stellar on special teams against the Saints. They took advantage of JK Scott’s excellent punting day.
