Los Angeles Chargers rookie linebacker Junior Colson is dealing with some sort of illness.
Because of that, the team placed him on the non-football illness list. He can’t practice until he gets taken off that list but it can happen anytime.
The Chargers are hoping that this isn’t serious for Colson since they have high hopes for him this season. They selected him in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft after he spent the previous three seasons with Jim Harbaugh at Michigan.
Harbaugh, now the Chargers head coach, got to see firsthand how good Colson was and it led the front office to select him in the third round.
Colson finished the 2023 season with 95 total tackles and two passes defended. That came a year after he compiled 101 total tackles, two sacks, and one pass defended.
Harbaugh took over the Chargers after leading Michigan to a national title this past season. He wanted to get back into the NFL since he wanted to win a Super Bowl and didn’t have anything else to prove at Michigan.
The Chargers will open training camp next week with their first practice.
