Philip Rivers spent 16 seasons as the quarterback for the Chargers organization. Philip Rivers signed a one-day contract last week to officially retire as a Charger.
Looking back at Philip Rivers’ career with the Chargers, he was an 8-time Pro Bowler, threw over 4,908 passes, and threw 397 touchdowns. Philip Rivers had a great career, which will definitely get him to the Hall of Fame one day. He was the NFL passing yards leader in 2010.
Philip Rivers said in the emotional video last week:
“It’s really, in the past handful of years, been my desire [to retire] as a Charger. It was more so the timing“.
The Spanos family said that Philip Rivers will always have a special place in the franchise. Philip Rivers played 228 games as the Chargers’ QB. The Chargers QB had set lots of franchise records for the team. Philip Rivers’ passing yards as a Charger are 59,271, and pass attempts are 7,591.

It will go down as the best Chargers QB in franchise history, other than Dan Fouts.
