The Chargers received trade calls while they were on the clock Thursday night but ultimately chose to stay put and select North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton. The move signifies the team’s commitment to running the football more efficiently in 2025 as the rookie will pair with free-agent signing Najee Harris to give Justin Herbert a real one-two punch in the backfield.
Los Angeles could have gone in a number of directions at No. 22 but they stayed true to their board and picked the guy they felt was the best player available.
What do you all think of the pick? Do you agree that Hampton was one of the best players left on the board? Is a first-round running back too rich for you? Let us know how you feel by giving the selection a grade in the poll below!
