The Chargers need to get younger up front on defense and could look to the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to fill that void
With uncertain futures in the edge rusher room with the likes of Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack potentially seeing their time with the Bolts coming to an end, the Los Angeles Chargers desperately need to find some younger edge rushing talent in the offseason. One player who could fill the void of those potential departures is Arkansas edge rusher Landon Jackson.

An athletic marvel with incredible agility and potential, Jackson was a stud for the Arkansas Razorbacks over the last few seasons. While his potential wasn’t fully realized given his natural ability, Jackson was still able to snag 13 sacks over the last two seasons with the team. Standing at 6’7 and 280 pounds, Jackson should not be able to move the way he does and have the get off that he has. Running a 4.68 40-yard dash and jumping a 40 inch vertical gives just a small preview into how athletic this big man is and just how much potential he has to develop further at the next level.
Jackson would be a natural fit with the Chargers, and if the team were able to retain one of both of its veteran edge rushers, they would be the perfect mentors for Jackson who still needs to refine his game. Should Jackson live up to his potential he will make the perfect running mate for edge rusher Tuli Tuiulotu as the team looks to move into a new era on their aging defense.
