Former Las Vegas Raider wideout Hunter Renfrow is looking to make an NFL comeback this offseason after missing out on the entire 2024 campaign. According to reports, the wide receiver wants to return to the league since Renfrow hasn’t been able to attract at least one suitor since last offseason after his release from the Raiders. Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the former Clemson product began his career as a premier pass-catcher for the Raiders, but finally, he is getting some visits with NFL teams this offseason. Renfrow had a slow first two seasons with the team, but the former Pro Bowler did get things up to speed in his 2021 campaign.
Despite recording 103 receptions, 1,038 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, it wasn’t enough for the Raiders to keep him around on the wide receiver corps. The wide receiver did not make the cut after having a single disastrous season with the Raiders since they didn’t have a capable quarterback to give him the ball. Since losing his job to star wide receiver Davante Adams and other talent, Renfrow has been struggling to find work, but things look bright that these two teams brought him in for a visit.
It’s easy to see why the Raiders and Panthers brought him in for a visit. This won’t be the last of Renfrow attracting interest, and he will likely be better off signing with a contender if there’s interest. The Chargers, Chiefs could be the latest teams that will likely bring him in for a possible visit.

More Help for Herbert
The Los Angeles Chargers have a bright future, but they may need to change their offseason plans if they want a different outcome for the upcoming year. Last season, quarterback Justin Herbert was still a top 5 player, despite coming across some troubles of not having a consistent pass catcher. 2024 draft pick Ladd McConkey was the only set of reliable hands for this passing offense and Herbert couldn’t lean on Quentin Johnston. Joshua Palmer was probably their only somewhat type of consistency, but after losing him in free agency, the team did need a new wideout.
While the Chargers signed Mike Williams, he was an elite player, but that was years ago. They could be recruiting Keenan Allen, but sometimes nostalgia might not work in Jim Harbaugh’s system. Speaking of him, the Chargers need more fiery power in the passing game rather than on the ground. Renfrow might not be the same, but he could easily match McConkey’s energy as a slot receiver and move the chains.
Wide Receiver Dilemma?
As for the Kansas City Chiefs, the team is in a weird spot this offseason. Since losing DeAndre Hopkins, the Chiefs have yet to find a new wide receiver in the market. They signed Marquise Brown to a new deal, but he’s only on a one-year deal. Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice will only be around as long as there’s peace outside the field.
Hunter Renfrow has a lot of unfinished business in this league that the Chiefs could use. He’s hungry for a new opportunity and teaming him with Patrick Mahomes might be just what he needs.
