The Chargers needed a win after dropping the last two games after starting the season 3-0.
Chargers defense came up big with interceptions and forcing turnovers, and offense led by QB Justin Herbert did their part also by converting big plays down the field throughout the game, the big honor goes to kicker Cameron Dicker.
Dicker, who made history earlier this season, was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors. It’s the fifth time he has won the award in his career.
Dicker joins teammate Derwin James, Jr. as the two Chargers players to earn Player of the Week Honors in 2025.
This included the game winning field goal from 33 yards to seal the game after the Chargers got into field goal range in the 29-27 win over the Miami Dolphins.
Ladd McConkey said:
“We knew we didn’t have to get too much because we have Cameron Dicker back there.”
The kick was Cameron Dicker’s fourth game-winning field goal of his career with less than 10 seconds remaining. This tied him for most in the NFL since he came into the league in the 2022 season.
Overall so far on the season, Cameron Dicker 14 made field goals and 53 points scored lead all AFC players. He’s also the only kicker in the AFC to make 100 percent of his field goal attempts on the year. Dicker remains the most accurate kicker in NFL history as he’s hit 105 of 111 career attempts which is good for a 94.6 percent accuracy rate.
The Chargers are back home this Sunday to face the Colts. LA is looking to build off momentum from the win last week hoping to make it two in a row this Sunday.
Chargers currently sit atop of the AFC West at 4-2.
