Baltimore Ravens former first rounder pass rusher Odafe Oweh will likely be on the trade block this offseason. According to Pro Football Focus, the Ravens have several talents that are entering their contract year, such as Kyle Van Noy and Mark Andrews, especially Oweh, who is in line to earn a massive extension. After losing Jadeveon Clowney as a free agent last offseason, the Ravens were in good hands with Oweh carving out a role as a reliable edge rusher, but it wasn’t enough to make up for Trenton Simpson’s production. Oweh isn’t god, but he did earn himself a long-term deal that probably won’t fit into the Ravens billing.
Originally selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, the former Penn State product put up illustrious numbers in his rookie season, recording 33 total tackles, five sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Oweh ranks 21st among other quality edge defenders, so he’s been playing up to the standards of what the Ravens are looking for. However, the report also says Baltimore may not warrant a lucrative extension and before he becomes a free agent, the team could be better off putting him on the trade block during this year’s draft to see what they get in return.
The Ravens may not get much, but considering the salary cap of this team, they should take their chance and these five rosters could pursue him.

Potential Trade Partners
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers found new life in Tershawn Wharton to fortify their defense, but they haven’t done anything for the team’s edge. Jadeveon Clowney isn’t getting younger, and the Panthers could use a reliable replacement when he retires. Carolina hasn’t been able to find a proper replacement for Brian Burns, so perhaps Oweh has a lot of years in the tank to give Derrick Brown a boost. With that, the Panthers should have enough firepower to accommodate quarterback Bryce Young securing his future with the team.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints enter this offseason with negative cap space but found a way to extend Chase Young to a massive deal. Cameron Jordan could be another edge rusher on the trade despite the contract restructure. Odafe Oweh could help the Saints and Young compete for the NFC to bring some upside potential for a playoff push.
Washington Commanders
Bobby Wagner may be returning, but the Hall of Famer will probably play one more season this year. After losing Dante Fowler Jr., the Commanders will need a proper replacement. Odafe Oweh may not get the same sack numbers as Fowler, but he brings a lot of young potential that the Commanders could bring the best out of.
Kansas City Chiefs
It’s still questionable for the edge-rushing unit for the Kansas City Chiefs. Nick Bolton got a new deal, but the future could be bleak for Drue Tranquill and Leo Chenal. Odafe Oweh won’t get traded to Kansas City, but if the Ravens release him, he could join forces with the rival.
Los Angeles Chargers
The same can be said about the Chargers. Jim Harbaugh hasn’t done anything to replace Joey Bosa this offseason, and Khalil Mack will likely retire in 2026. Oweh is a reliable long-term fix that will likely excel in the defensive mindset of Jesse Minter.
