After spending two campaigns with the Denver Broncos, the team could trade cornerback Riley Moss before the 2025 regular season starts next month. According to Pro Football Focus, they believe the Broncos are on the verge of sending Moss in a potential trade scenario since they have a promising rookie who’s emerging as a possible starter. Denver spent their entire offseason this year salvaging the secondary and drafting Jahdae Barron in the first round, leaving Moss having to fight for the starting spot. Despite that, the Broncos could keep both cornerbacks on the roster, but it might be beneficial for the Broncos to send Moss while he’s young and healthy to garner a solid draft pick in return.
Originally selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, the former Iowa product spent the rookie season fighting for a start in the league after appearing in 14 games. Later, he won the job as the second starter next to Patrick Surtain II, recording his first interception off a pass from former Raider, Gardner Minshew. It seems unusual for the Broncos to move on Moss so early, but it wouldn’t be surprising since he has a ton of value. Moss put up a solid 57.8 PFF grade, and being that Ja’Quan McMillian is another contributor for the unit, they might need to trade away Moss if they want.

Potential Destinations
Dallas Cowboys
Even though DaRon Bland looks to be a lock for the cornerback position in Dallas, it doesn’t guarantee a spot for Trevon Diggs. It’s been a disastrous training camp for the Cowboys, and since it’s any starting spot in the secondary up for grabs, they might have to settle for a trade. An athlete like Moss could bring a fresh breath of air to combat the challenges despite them trading for Kaiir Elam earlier this offseason.
Baltimore Ravens
Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens have been heavily investing in the secondary this offseason after signing Xavier Woods and Jaire Alexander. The team has an army of secondary pieces to work with, but since the safety unit could use some work in the wake of Ar’Darius Washington’s injury, they should continue building the cornerback department. Moss and 2024 draft pick Nate Wiggins could be a fierce duo to alleviate the stress of Marlon Humphrey and Alexander in time for the postseason.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs don’t need another cornerback after signing Kristian Fulton, but it wouldn’t hurt to add one more. Trent McDuffie was able to live up to expectations this past year, just like Fulton. Moss joining the Chiefs gives him a shot at a ring and a chance to win a starting job.
Los Angeles Chargers
However, the Los Angeles Chargers might need one more secondary corner to solidify their unit. Despite signing Benjamin St-Juste and Donte Jackson, the Chargers could use extra help to support 2024 draft pick Cam Hart. This is where Moss could come in and compete for the job to provide that juice to help him.
Washington Commanders
Just because Marshon Lattimore is returning for another season with the Washington Commanders, it doesn’t guarantee he will have the best season. He is aging, and they’re better off getting someone like Moss to take over as fresh talent. Perhaps, this might be why they signed Jonathan Jones, and Moss could be the building that Washington needs.
