The BFTB Staff talk through their picks for Sunday’s games headlined by Dallas Cowboys vs. Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Baltimore Ravens.
Good Morning, Bolts From the Blue!
The Chargers have already played their Week 15 game so we can sit back, relax and try to enjoy watching football that doesn’t make us feel blue. The weekend already got off to a hot start with three games being played across Saturday as the NFL try to take full advantage of the break in college broadcasting before the bowl games get started next week.
The remaining games will be played across Sunday and Monday with the Sunday slate being headlined by Dallas Cowboys vs Buffalo Bills. DraftKings Sportsbook has the Bills as favorites and for me, this is an interesting choice. The Bills may have surged back into playoff contention with a win against the Kansas City Chiefs however Andy Reid’s men are a team on the decline whereas Mike McCarthy’s Cowboys are flying beating genuinely good teams along the way. The Bills offense has been below their best all season and they could struggle against Dan Quinn’s defense that continues to find ways to cause havoc despite key injuries. I think Dak Prescott will carve through a banged up Bills’ defense and lead the way to an underdog win. They can cover the 2-point spread at the very least at -108 but the moneyline at +110 is too good to pass up on.
This week’s prime time game is an interesting top-of-the-conference showdown between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Baltimore Ravens. Not only will this game be a great watch but the implications in the hunt for the number one playoff seed are huge as both these teams could end up with the same record looking at their remaining games. Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars’ offense has been efficient but not explosive and that might cost them against a stout Ravens’ offense that has been one of the best in football all season long but has allowed explosive plays at a disproportionate rate. On the other side of the ball it is tough to run against this Jacksonville defense but they are facing the league’s best rushing attack that has even seen high levels of success despite reducing the frequency they rely on Lamar Jackson’s legs. Whereas Lamar’s development as a passer has really pushed the Ravens into Super Bowl contention this season. All things considered, I think that the Ravens matchup too well against the Jags on both sides of the ball to allow them to dictate this game and they’re good value to cover the 3.5-point spread at +100 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
