$33 million wideout Jakobi Meyers may receive trade interest from the Baltimore Ravens or Los Angeles Chargers this regular season. According to a report, the 49ers were attempting to trade for Meyers this offseason but the Raiders rejected the offer as they didn’t want to be sellers. This all came before Brandon Aiyuk agreed to a new contract with San Francisco after holding out for a new deal most of the offseason. However, Meyers may still be a hot trade candidate next to Davante Adams who will be in the mix as well.
The Raiders would be foolish to not make at least one trade, especially if they end up having another losing season. Las Vegas might eventually become sellers since they still have questions about the quarterback position and probably want to gather as many picks to trade up for one in the 2025 Draft. The sixth-year veteran caught 71 passes for 807 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023 so it’s clear he has something that teams may want. Meyers has been consistent for the Raiders so it’s no surprise why he may receive interest even after the offer that Las Vegas turned down.
The 27-year-old probably won’t develop under an offense that is struggling so it might be best to trade him away for a contender like the Ravens if it comes to it. Journeyman Gardner Minshew is taking over services in Las Vegas so frustrations will come with it since there are several underdeveloped players on the roster.

Championship Bound?
Meyers would probably welcome the idea of joining a legitimate contender if he can carve out a role in an offense of need. One source believes the Detroit Lions could inquire the Raiders about Meyers’ availability. Over the past few years of his tenure, he has caught passes from Cam Newton, Mac Jones, Bailey Zappe, Jimmy Garoppolo, Aidan O’Connell, Brian Hoyer and Minshew. Meyers may benefit from teaming up with a roster that has a consistent quarterback like Jared Goff.
Many could imagine what he could do with a top-notch quarterback which is why the Ravens may call for his services. Baltimore still has a receiver issue after acquiring Nelson Agholor for their WR3 spot. Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman are two reliable wideouts but they need help behind them to recast the entire receiver depth chart.
More Help For Justin Herbert
The Chargers should be on the hunt for a new wideout, especially having someone like rookie Ladd McConkey who is already impressive. DJ Chark is out and even when he comes back, the likelihood of him breaking out is low. The pressure is on Quentin Johnston to prove otherwise why the team should keep him after a disastrous campaign last year. Journeyman Joshua Palmer can only do so much with an excelling rookie that a team shouldn’t depend their success on.
Meyers may be able to give the Chargers a fresh start to give Justin Herbert a clean slate at the slot.
Next Possible Teams
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs continue to take blows to their receiver depth chart after Marquise Brown will likely miss the season before stepping on the field with his new team. The good news for Kansas City is that Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice are performing well but the depth behind them remains a concern. After releasing Kadarius Toney, they are left with bringing back JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman and Skyy Moore. Worthy could take the load but they need a WR3 to make consistent plays since Smith-Schuster is coming off a disappointing campaign from the Patriots
Carolina Panthers
It’s fair to think that the Panthers will anticipate another crash-and-burn-type season. Diontae Johnson hasn’t been getting open and they can’t depend on Xavier Legette being that it’s his first year. It may be up to Adam Thielen against the world again if Johnson doesn’t improve and the Panthers probably won’t give him a new extension since it hasn’t been discussed. Carolina might have to play it safe to roll the dice on Meyers midseason and see what he could do in the slot next to Thielen.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys’ passing attack wouldn’t be where it’s at without CeeDee Lamb. It should be clear they need more depth at the wideout position since an older Brandin Cooks and a youngster Jalen Tolbert can only take this team far. Meyers’ addition to the offense should give the Cowboys passing game more consistency among other receivers not named Lamb.
