3 Bold Predictions for the Chargers 2025 Schedule Matchups

May 23, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Chargers Schedule

The Los Angeles Chargers 2025 schedule was once again released in high fashion, this time doing so in Minecraft format. As the spearhead of social media schedule releases, the games themselves can get lost in the shuffle from the hype around the release video.

To begin talking about the games themselves, what better than to have predictions that get more and more bold?

3 Bold Predictions for the Chargers 2025 Schedule Matchups

Bold – Chargers v Eagles: A Low Scoring Affair

One of the biggest games of the season for the Chargers is their matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. This is not because there will be many divisional or conference seeding implications, but it’s because the Eagles are as good as an opponent can get.

A game headlined by Justin Herbert, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown and Ladd McConkey would definitely give fans the impression that this will be a high-scoring affair.

The Chargers 2025 roster has definitely improved during the offseason, but proof of concept has yet to occur. As for the Eagles, they obviously can put up points, as they put up 40 on an excellent Chiefs defense in the most recent Super Bowl. However, I believe this game will go down to a battle of defense and special teams.

The Chargers were able to make the playoffs last season due to their very strong defensive performances in the regular season, coupled with flashes of Herbert becoming Superman to carry a poor offense to a successful season. This is likely to continue into the Chargers 2025 season, especially considering the Eagles defense has elite talent on all levels of the defense.

As for the Eagles, they will be with a new offensive coordinator, an aging (yet very talented) offense, and spearheaded by the overtly conservative Jalen Hurts.

A clash of defenses and offenses trying not to lose the game, this matchup will end up being an absolute slugfest, ending in a 13-10 victory for the Eagles. A positive sign that the 2025 Chargers can compete with the best of the NFL.

Bolder – Chargers Win Rematch Against Houston Texans in Dominating Fashion

The Chargers are scheduled for a rematch with the Houston Texans in Week 17 of the 2025 season, after a brutal loss in the playoffs in 2024.

Both teams have done their best to improve their rosters after the 2024 postseason, but most media outlets can come to agree that only one of those teams succeeded in doing so. That being the Chargers.

Before the 2025 season’s Chargers vs Texans matchup, Houston went through plenty of roster changes, for better or for worse. They traded away arguably their best offensive player in Laremy Tunsil; they will not see Tank Dell back in 2025, and will be under a new offensive coordinator.

This is not to undermine their other moves, but obviously, this Texans team is going to have a lot of work to do to get back to the point where they were just last season.

The previous matchup left a bad taste in the entire Chargers organization’s mouth, leading to a brutal beating of the Texans in the upcoming 2025 schedule; a 34-10 victory for the Bolts.

Boldest – Los Angeles Chargers 2025 Schedule Allows For an 11-1 Start

When predicting the Chargers 2025 schedule’s wins and losses, I like to be more conservative, taking into account trap games and poor performances on the road, as well as other external factors.

But since we are getting bold, the Chargers will go 11-1 to start the season. All of the games that could give pause to this take are all at home for the Chargers, leading me to believe this Bolts team can get really hot to start off the 2025 NFL season.

The only loss I have for the first 12 games of the Chargers 2025 season is Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil. An international game against the Super Bowl runner-up in Week 1 is just an absolutely brutal way to start the season. From there on, the Chargers can very well go on a hot streak, only ending it to the aforementioned Eagles in low-scoring fashion.

Overall, the 2025 season is an exciting one for the Chargers, hopefully leading to unexpected yet positive outcomes to happen.
