Maya Brady, the niece of legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady, was one of the best softball players in the country this season.
Unfortunately, her season – and her college softball career – came to an end on Sunday night.
No. 6 UCLA lost to No. 8 Stanford in a Women’s College World Series elimination game on Sunday evening. The game took place at Devon Park at Oklahoma City.

Maya Brady is getting serious praise for how she reacted to the tough loss and performance.
“The way Maya Brady just struck out in probably her biggest at bat of the season.. kids can learn so much from. Walked back to the dugout..took a breath while taking her stuff off & immediately went straight to cheer on her teammate. Didn’t pout.. didn’t feel sorry for herself,” one fan wrote.
“Maya Brady is a GREAT hitter. Struck out 4 times on her birthday during the WCWS but every time she struck out, she held her head high, placed her items and her helmet down, then got back on the fence to cheer on her teammates. That’s a GREAT teammate,” one fan added.
“Maya Brady still clapping, cheering her teammates on, and showing no negative emotion after her third strikeout in what could potentially be her last career game… put that on things you LOVE to see,” one fan added.
Congrats on a great career, Maya.
