If you’re having a hard time getting into the Pauley Pavillion in Los Angeles to see the Oregon Ducks play the UCLA Bruins, you can thank President Joe Biden for that.
Biden has been in Los Angeles this weekend for a visit with members of the entertainment industry. Unfortunately for college basketball fans, his motorcade and the litany of security measures that traveling on the ground entails moved the notorious Los Angeles traffic to a snail’s crawl.
“So this is a first…we are less than an hour from tip and @OregonMBB is not here at Pauley Pavilion. They are stuck at their hotel and not moving because of Presidential motorcade,” ESPN’s Roxy Bernstein wrote on X.
The Oregon basketball team were delayed in getting to the arena until mere minutes before the scheduled tipoff. As a result, the game had to be pushed back to 7:25 p.m. local time.
But while the Ducks managed to arrive at the stadium, a ton of fans are still stuck in traffic and trying to get in as a result of the motorcade.

“UCLA is so down bad they could just go ahead and start, Oregon will catch up when the bus gets there,” one user joked.
“One in a million odds, first-world problems,” another wrote.
“Concerning. Guess the Ducks are just Bide’n their time,” joked a third.
Thanks, Joe Biden.
