UCLA is set to undergo a national search to find a new head coach with Chip Kelly’s impending departure to Ohio State.
Kelly is leaving for Ohio State to be the program’s offensive coordinator after Bill O’Brien was selected by Boston College to be the school’s new head coach.
There’s going to be serious interest in the UCLA job since the school is joining the Big Ten this year and one name that fans want to see considered is former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.
“If I’m UCLA, I’m calling Pete Carroll ASAP,” one tweet read.

Carroll was most recently moved upstairs by the Seahawks after they missed the playoffs this past season. He coached the team for 14 seasons and finished with a 137-89-1 record along with a Super Bowl in 2013-14.
Before that, he was the head coach at USC (UCLA’s biggest rival) for nine seasons (2001-09) and compiled a 97-19 overall record.
It remains to be seen if UCLA will reach out to Carroll regarding the role.
