Longtime NFL offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is officially a member of UCLA’s staff.
On Saturday, UCLA confirmed that Bieniemy will be the team’s associate head coach and offensive coordinator for the 2024 season. He was previously the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders.
While at UCLA’s facility this Saturday afternoon, Bieniemy said, “It’s time.”
UCLA head coach DeShaun Foster made it abundantly clear that he’s thrilled to have Bieniemy on his staff for the 2024 season.
“Having one of the most innovative offensive minds in football join our staff speaks volumes to the type of program we are building here at UCLA,” Foster said. “Coach Bieniemy’s belief in our pillars shined throughout our conversations and confirmed he was the right man to not only help us develop an explosive approach on the field, but leaders off of it.”
Prior to having a rough season with the Commanders, Bieniemy won two Super Bowl titles with the Kansas City Chiefs. Andy Reid constantly raves about his ability to lead an offense.
Bieniemy has an opportunity to revive his stock at UCLA. If the Bruins field a dynamic offense this fall, perhaps Bieniemy will earn a head-coaching gig at the collegiate level. Of course, we can’t rule out the possibility of him returning to the NFL.
