It’s been a low-scoring affair in today’s Colorado-UCLA game but Colorado defensive back Shilo Sanders won’t be a part of it anymore after being ejected in controversial fashion.
With 3:22 remaining in second quarter of today’s game, UCLA quarterback Ethan Garbers hit receiver Carsen Ryan over the middle. Sanders came charging in and leveled Ryan with a big hit from his shoulder. That’s when things got weird.
To the surprise of everyone, a flag was thrown from the sideline official. Sanders was penalized for targeting and then ejected from the game.
Fans hated that call with just about everyone calling it incredibly weak given that Sanders did not lead with his helmet or hit Ryan in the head.

“ejected for leading with his shoulder..? get a grip officials,” one user replied.
“Nah wtf, they might as well move to flag football,” wrote another.
“Awful call. Nothing wrong about this hit,” a third declared.
Like it or not, Shilo Sanders will not play in the remainder of this game. Whether or not the rules officials change things after this play is another issue entirely.
Do you believe this should have been a penalty?
