LeBron and Bronny James are expected to share the hardwood together this Tuesday evening when the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in their season opener.
The Lakers selected Bronny with the 55th pick in this year’s draft. Although he struggled at times during the preseason, the coaching staff values his perimeter defense and 3-point shooting. Perhaps he can be a valuable asset off the bench for JJ Redick’s squad.
With LeBron and Bronny set to make history as the first father-son duo to play on the same team, Nike has released a hilarious ad in their honor.
The latest commercial from Nike shows LeBron pranking Bronny by filling his car up with Fruity Pebbles. After Bronny opens up the car door, LeBron pulls down his window to say, “Hey, rook, you better not be late.”
Bronny replied, “Yo, are you serious?” That led to LeBron saying, “Clean up my driveway – it’s a mess.”
Moments ago, LeBron shared this awesome ad from Nike.
We’d have to imagine this ad will air during the Lakers-Timberwolves game.
As for Bronny’s role tonight, it’s unclear how many minutes he’ll receive from Redick. Earlier this Tuesday, ESPN insider Shams Charania provided an update on this situation.
“I’m told it’s very likely, and the Lakers plan that LeBron James, Bronny James make history as the first father-son duo to be on the court at the same time, and likely to come early in the game as long as it’s competitive and it’s a flowing game as far as where the Lakers are at early on in that game,” Charania said, via Bleacher Report. “I think that’s going to be very important. The Lakers want to allow this to happen during the flow of the game in a competitive environment. JJ Redick said on Monday that here is no plan finalized yet for both of them to play together on opening night, but this is something the Lakers have spent a lot of time discussing internally.”
The crowd at Crypto.com Arena will probably erupt when Bronny and LeBron step on the court.
Tipoff for the Lakers-Timberwolves game is at 10 p.m. ET.
