Bronny James made his Summer League debut with the Los Angeles Lakers this Saturday against the Sacramento Kings. In the second quarter of action, the 55th pick from this year’s draft scored his first bucket of the game.
Bronny received a handoff from Colin Castleton and drove straight to the basket for a layup.
LeBron wasn’t in the stands to watch Bronny’s debut. He did, however, see the replay of his son’s first basket while at training camp for Team USA.
As you’d expect, LeBron was proud of his son for the way he attacked the rim.
“C’mon man that’s tough,” James said. “That’s tough. Get loose!”

Some fans disagree with LeBron about Bronny’s first basket being “tough,” but we can’t fault him for being a proud father. The fact his son is in the NBA right now must be a surreal feeling.
In the third quarter, Bronny knocked down a midrange jumper. It was a nice move from the former USC guard.
Bronny will have plenty of opportunities this summer to showcase his skills. If he plays well, he could potentially earn a spot on the Lakers’ roster for their season opener later this year.
