The Denver Nuggets snuck away with a 131-126 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in a back-and-forth contest on Friday. A blowout of epic proportions appeared to be on the cards at Ball Arena, considering the Lakers’ lengthy injury list, but the visitors battled hard and even had a chance at coming away with a stunning win.
While the Lakers players gave a good account of themselves on the night, the same cannot be said about a few of their fans. CNN’s Jeremy Harlan shared a video on X of Lakers and Nuggets fans brawling at Ball Arena after the game.
Leave it to @Lakers fans to come into your arena and start throwing fists after the game. But the @nuggets fan got a quite a shot in at the very beginning. @WorldWideWob pic.twitter.com/o0GGE6lEuA

It is unclear what led to this brawl, but a fair few individuals appear to have exchanged blows. Some women were involved as well, and the only positive here is that no one looked to have been seriously hurt. It will be interesting to see if any sort of action is taken against these individuals.
There appears to be some bad blood between these fanbases now due to the rivalry between the teams. The players themselves have never really gone at each other during the games, though, and here’s hoping it stays that way.

Getting back to this game, the Lakers appeared to be on their way to a stunning upset win when they were up 126-123 with less than a minute remaining. As has been the case in most of the games between these teams in recent years, though, the Nuggets managed to make some big plays when it mattered most.
First, Nikola Jokic tied the game with an and-one on the very next possession. Austin Reaves then missed from mid-range, which meant the stage was set for another clutch Jamal Murray shot against the Lakers. Murray drilled a 3-pointer to give Denver the lead, but the visitors still had a chance to send the game into overtime.
The Lakers didn’t even manage to get a shot up, though, as Russell Westbrook stole Shake Milton’s inbounds pass and dunked on the other end to seal victory. It was just yet another heartbreaking loss against for the Lakers against the Nuggets.
