A new name has been written into the Indiana Fever’s record books after a player who has quickly become the heart of the team reached a historic milestone. The All-Star forward needed only 118 games to reach 1,000 rebounds.
The Indiana Fever Have a New Rebounding Record Holder
Who Set A New Record For The Fastest Player To Reach 1,000 Rebounds?
When people talk about the best rebounders in Fever history, legends like Tamika Catchings come to mind immediately. Catchings built her career on grabbing rebounds in ways that often changed the flow of games. But this new record holder has reached the 1,000-rebound mark faster than even those who came before her.
Aliyah Boston has made history with the Indiana Fever, becoming the fastest player in franchise history to reach 1,000 career rebounds Tuesday. This milestone highlights her importance for the Fever and her growing legacy in the WNBA. The 2023 No. 1 overall draft pick stormed onto the scene and wasted no time leaving her mark.
“1K Congrats to Aliyah Boston on becoming the fastest player in franchise history to reach 1,000 career rebounds,” the Indiana Fever posted on X.
Boston has quickly become an important player for the Fever. Head coach Stephanie White had to rely more on Boston after DeWanna Bonner was waived mid-season. Boston quickly repaid the faith with standout performances, including setting the franchise record for fastest to 1,000 rebounds.
“Right now, we’re just going to be focused on LA,” Boston said after the game against the Seattle Storm. “That’s kind of been our motto this entire season, just focus on the game ahead of you. Be where your feet are. And so starting tomorrow, we’re going to be looking at LA…we’ve got to take it one game at a time.”

Boston Shines as Mitchell Sets Scoring Record
Boston’s impact on the Fever started the moment she arrived in 2023. In that short time, the three-time All-Star has played a key role in lifting Indiana from the bottom of the standings to one of the league’s most exciting squads. While Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell have each made big contributions, the trio has together completely reshaped the Fever.
Her impact was on full display against the Storm on Tuesday as Indiana’s offense tore apart the WNBA’s third-ranked defense, putting up 95 points in a decisive 20-point win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Boston, Mitchell, and Odyssey Sims all impressed, each scoring 20 points.
Mitchell and Sims found their rhythm early, which opened the door for Boston to thrive. She started quietly with just three points in the first quarter but pulled down four rebounds. In the second quarter, her offense picked up as she scored eight points, then stayed steady in the third with another 10. By the end of the night, Boston had a game-high 27 points along with nine rebounds.
While Boston’s nine boards pushed her past the 1,000 mark, Mitchell’s hot scoring streak took her into the record books as well, as she set a new single-season scoring record with 787 points.
