After LeBron James took a shot at him during his tell-all interview on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, Stephen A. Smith replied to the Los Angeles Lakers superstar.
In the wake of James’ interview, Smith centered his show on the four-time NBA player repeatedly “lying.”
A short clip of the analyst made the rounds on social media, with the veteran saying how he would have reacted if James became physical with him during their March 6 in-game interaction during the Lakers-Knicks matchup.
“If that man would’ve put his hands on me. I would’ve immediately swung on him. Immediately,” Smith said.
Smith initially lamented that James approached him the way he did when everything could be discussed over a phone call. The back-and-forth hasn’t stopped since that moment, although James only responded during his interview.
The four-time NBA champion compared Smith to pop superstar Taylor Swift.
“He’s like on a Taylor Swift tour run right now,” he said. “It started off with ‘I don’t want to address it. I wasn’t going to address it but since the video came out, I feel the need to address it.’ (Expletive) are you kidding me? If there’s one person that couldn’t wait till the video drop so you could address it, it’s your (expletive).”
James responding to Smith the way he did turned a lot of heads on social media and it’s unclear whether this will be the last time he’ll address the analyst. On the other side, this gave Smith more material to keep going after the Lakers superstar.
