Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III sent a strong message to Bronny James’ doubters after the Los Angeles Lakers rookie posted the best game of his young NBA career.
Griffin praised James over his 17-point, three-assist and five-rebound performance, writing a message on social media to defend the guard and LeBron James’ prior comments about his firstborn.
There is no way you actually watched Bronny James play in high school, college or in the G League and didn’t know that he was an actual NBA level talent. Now his haters are backtracking after he had a career high 17 pts on 7-10 shooting. Lebron was RIGHT. pic.twitter.com/AYH1EtX2UL

After enduring heavy criticism due to what many believed was an abrupt entrance to the NBA, Bronny spent time in the G League with the South Bay Lakers while learning as much as possible from his father and the rest of the team.
For the season, Bronny is averaging 2.3 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists, shooting 35.4% from the field and 76% from the free-throw line.
Bronny has been great in the G League, where he has logged major minutes for the South Bay Lakers while showing flashes of being a rotation player in the NBA. There, he has averaged 20.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.8 steals, shooting 43.1% from the field and 36.1% from deep.
The Lakers dropped to 43-26 with the loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, but they saw glimpses of brilliance from Bronny. The second-rounder is working to become a solid NBA player, but his evolution is visible every time he steps on the floor.
He’s been mostly used in garbage time by JJ Redick, but Bronny is making the most of those opportunities. The Lakers will return to action against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night before going on a four-game road trip in Orlando, Indiana, Chicago and Memphis.
If injured players don’t return in time, fans could see James getting more opportunities to shine, especially against the struggling Bulls.
Even Stephen A. Smith started to change his stance on James, praising the rookie after his good performance against the Bucks.
