On the debut episode of Game Over with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul, the hosts discussed LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Paul is the CEO of Klutch Sports, who represents James.
Paul said he doesn’t believe the Los Angeles Lakers are championship contenders are currently constructed. Paul spoke about how good the Oklahoma City Thunder are, as well as the Western Conference having other solid teams.
That led to Kellerman asking Paul if James would finish the season not on the Lakers. Paul answered with an emphatic “No.”
When Kellerman followed up by asking, “(James) will be on the Lakers at the end of this year?”, Paul replied with “Yeah. Where’s he going to go?”
Paul and Kellerman then discussed several teams. While the super-agent insisted that acquiring James would make teams better, he repeated that a trade isn’t happening. Paul cited markets, lack of assets, or simply not being in position to acquire James via trade. Paul also brought up that his client has a no-trade clause, which gives James control over approving where he could be traded to.
