Cedi Osman drew interest from Real Madrid before signing with Panathinaikos for the upcoming season. Osman also had NBA interest, even turning down a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers offered Osman a non-guaranteed training camp deal. The veteran wing would have had to make the regular season roster for any guaranteed salary to trigger. The Lakers already have 15 fully guaranteed contracts, making it an uphill fight for any camp player.
Osman played for seven years in the NBA, the first six with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Last season, the 6-foot-7 wing played in 72 games for the San Antonio Spurs. Osman averaged 6.8 points on 48% shooting, including 39% on three-pointers, for the Spurs.
