Just like every single Lakers fan, Magic Johnson was absolutely crushed when Jamal Murray hit a game-winning shot over Anthony Davis on Monday night.
Usually, Johnson tweets his immediate reaction to Lakers playoff games. He decided to wait until Tuesday afternoon to share his thoughts on the team’s Game 2 loss.
“Last night I was so devastated I couldn’t even tweet,” Johnson wrote. “An unbelievable shot by Jamal Murray, and an outstanding comeback by the Nuggets.”
The Lakers had a 20-point lead in the second half against the Nuggets, and yet, they were simply unable to seal the deal. We can’t blame Johnson for feeling some type of way about that.
Instead of taking accountability for last night’s loss, the Lakers blamed officiating.
“I don’t understand what’s going on in the replay center, to be honest,” LeBron James said, via the New York Post. “D-Lo clearly gets hit in the face on the drive. What the f–k do we have a replay center … it doesn’t make sense. It makes no sense. It bothers me.”
The Lakers will try to keep their season alive when the series shifts to Los Angeles.
Game 3 of Nuggets-Lakers series will take place on Thursday night.
