Luke Doncic has quickly ingratiated himself to Los Angeles Lakers fans.
On Tuesday night, Doncic showed the Dallas Mavericks what they’re missing when posting 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists in a 107-99 win over his former team. Doncic joined Russell Westbrook and Lakers teammate LeBron James as the third player in NBA history to record a triple-double against all 30 teams.
Before the game, Doncic made a pricey gesture to Lakers fans attending the matchup. In a collaboration with the Jordan Brand, the 25-year-old bought out a parking lot nearby Crypto.com Arena. A purple sign read “Free parking courtesy of Luka” with the Jumpman logo.
Just got free parking right across the arena lol shoutout Luka!!! Incredible stuff đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź pic.twitter.com/Nq5mVZkCx3

Jordan Brand also parked a luxury Koenigsegg painted purple and yellow with Doncic’s No. 77 inside the lot. They featured that car in a recent ad of someone replacing a Texas No. 77 licence plate with a purple California plate.
Less than four weeks ago, the Lakers shocked the NBA world by acquiring Doncic from the Mavericks. As Dallas fans protested and held mock funerals outside the arena, Los Angeles rejoiced over landing yet another superstar to take the mantle from LeBron.
In just his fifth game with the Lakers, Doncic faced off against his old squad. Last year’s scoring champion went 6-of-17 from the floor but distributed double-digit assists for the first time since the trade.
The Lakers improved to 35-21, but Doncic was relieved to move on from the bittersweet matchup.
“It was just a lot of emotions and not much sleep,” Doncic said of playing Dallas, per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “I can’t even explain [it]. It was a different game. … Sometimes I don’t know what I was doing.
And I’m just glad it’s over, honestly.”
Doncic has more time to prepare for a Dallas homecoming when the Mavericks host the Lakers on April 9. The Lakers play five home games over the next nine days, so it may be too pricey even for an NBA star to keep buying out parking lots in L.A.
