LeBron James never really responded to critics in the media all these years, but has gone scorched earth recently. James has been firing shots left, right and center, with Stephen A. Smith being one of those on the receiving end.
James’ feud with Smith began when he confronted him during a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks on March 6. Smith has been talking about the incident on various shows ever since, and James mocked him on the “Pat McAfee Show” for going on a “Taylor Swift Tour.”
While some might have decided against engaging in a war of words here, Smith was always going to respond. He called James a liar on his show and claimed he’d have swung at him if the Lakers star had put his hands on him during that viral encounter.
Now, the James of old might not have responded to that, but this new iteration did. The 40-year-old posted a viral clip of Smith engaging in boxing training on Instagram to roast him.
“WHOMP WHOMP WHOMPPPPPPPP.”

That was ruthless. To be fair to Smith, he did acknowledge that he would have stood no chance in a fight with James, but no one paid any attention to that.
In case you’re wondering what on earth he was doing in that clip, Smith had an explanation for it in 2020. He claimed he was throwing those punches after a workout while having a torn rotator cuff.

Smith didn’t have a problem with people laughing at him back then and stated that he was even laughing at himself. He won’t be laughing now, though, and you better believe he is going to have something to say about this.
