LeBron James has now made an All-NBA Team for a record 21 times after being named Second Team All-NBA on Friday.

LeBron James continues to set a standard for greatness and longevity.

On Friday, he was named to the All-NBA Second Team, making it his 21st time receiving All-NBA honors.

This is LeBron’s third time making the Second Team. LeBron has also made First Team All-NBA 13 times and Third Team four times in his career.

LeBron is joined by Anthony Edwards, Steph Curry, Evan Mobley and Jalen Brunson. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell were the First Team honorees with the former four being unanimous.

Cade Cunningham, Karl-Anthony Towns, Tyrese Haliburton, Jalen Williams and James Harden comprised the Third Team.

LeBron received 17 First Team votes, 61 Second Team votes and 21 Third Team votes, meaning he was left off one ballot entirely.

A global media panel of 100 voters selected the 2024-25 Kia All-NBA Team.

Voters selected five players for the First Team, five players for the Second Team and five players for the Third Team at any position.

This season, at 40, LeBron remained one of Los Angeles’ best players. He averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds, leading the team in assists.

LeBron also made the All-Star Game this season, which is even with his All-NBA honors at 21. James has been named an All-Star and made the All-NBA Team for every single season of his career except for his rookie campaign.

Simply put, no one has ever been this good for this long.

With 21 All-NBA honors during his career, LeBron is in a league by himself. He has made the most All-NBA Teams. The closest active player to LeBron in All-NBA honors is Kevin Durant, who has 11.

To qualify for this award, LeBron played in 70 games this year, clearing the 65 needed to be eligible.

No other Laker received All-NBA honors. The only other player with a season that warranted such an achievement was Luka Dončić. However, he missed significant time due to a calf strain injury and was ineligible since he only participated in 50 games.

Anthony Davis also likely would have made an All-NBA team this season, but the ab injury he suffered at the end of his tenure with the Lakers and aggravated at the start of his time with the Mavs cost him too many games as he only played 51.
