LeBron James and Bronny James will become the first father-son duo to share an NBA hardwood later this year. The Los Angeles Lakers selected the four-time champion’s son in the second round of this year’s draft.
During the upcoming episode of “The Shop” on Uninterrupted, LeBron talked about being teammates with Bronny. He revealed that he already set a rule for the 2024-25 season.
No matter the circumstances, Bronny won’t be allowed to call LeBron “dad” while they’re on the court together.
“No, he can’t,” James said, via TMZ. “Cannot call me ‘dad’ in the workplace. Once we leave out the private facility and the gates close, I can be ‘dad’ again.
“In the car, if we ride together, at home, I could be ‘dad.’ No, he gotta call me like, ‘2-3’ or ‘Bron or ‘G.O.A.T. if he wants to. It’s easy for me because I’ve been calling him Bronny for so long.”
After sharing this clip from “The Shop” on social media, James joked about this entire situation
“Dad get yo [expletive] back on defense,” James wrote.
It’s going to be interesting to see how Bronny and LeBron perform on the court together. That is, of course, if they’re part of the same rotation.
The Lakers have not yet said if Bronny will be part of their main roster for the regular season. They’ve stressed the importance of being patient throughout his development.
