LeBron James has been in the NBA for so long that he’ll have the chance to share the hardwood with his son Bronny this upcoming season.
The Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny with the 55th overall pick in this year’s draft. The former USC guard showcased his abilities on defense during the Summer League, but his offensive game still leaves a lot to be desired.
Although there’s no guarantee Bronny will suit up for the Lakers during the 2024-25 season, LeBron has already thought about that possibility.
During the latest episode of “The Shop” on Uninterrupted, James revealed that he won’t let his son refer to him as “dad” when they’re in the middle of a game.
“No, he can’t,” James said, via TMZ. “Cannot call me ‘dad’ in the workplace. Once we leave out the private facility and the gates close, I can be ‘dad’ again.
“In the car, if we ride together, at home, I could be ‘dad.’ No, he gotta call me like, ‘2-3’ or ‘Bron [on the court].”
LeBron later joked that Bronny could refer to him as “G.O.A.T.” if he truly wants to.
Just out of curiosity, we’d love to see what happens if Bronny accidentally says “dad” when on the court with LeBron. That could produce a hilarious moment.
