LeBron James is sick and tired of people saying that he always lies about everything.
Back in July, the Los Angeles Lakers took Dalton Knecht from the Tennessee Volunteers and James was stunned when he fell to No. 17 overall.
“Dalton, besides Bronny, was my favorite player in college basketball,” James said.
The Lakers got both Knecht and Bronny James, LeBron’s son during the 2024 NBA Draft since they took the former with the No. 17 pick and the latter with the No. 55 pick.
Fast forward a few months later and James was again asked what he saw in Knecht last season while he was with the Vols. That’s when he went after fans for trying to call him a “liar.”
“I don’t know. The same (expletive) I said last year. Everybody on the internet calls me a liar all the time. They say I lie about every-(expletive)-thing. So what am I now? I’ve been said it,” James said.
James has the receipts for what he said about Knecht at the time of the draft so no fan is going to win this one. He loved the pick at the time and still does now.
Knecht has played in 14 games this season and is off to a good start, averaging 11.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
He had the best game of his career to date on Tuesday, finishing with 37 points and five rebounds in a 124-118 win over the Utah Jazz. That win got the Lakers to 10-4 through their first 14 games.
They’re one of the top teams in the NBA and will be back in action this Thursday against the Orlando Magic.
