LeBron James captured his third Olympic gold medal this summer, playing a critical role in the United States’ run to the title in Paris.
James, who also won gold in 2008 and 2012, has decided to commemorate the milestone in a permanent way. He’s added a new tattoo of the Olympic rings on the inside of his left elbow and forearm.
Well-known tattoo artist GangaTattoo, who has inked James up in the past, shared footage of the new tat on his Instagram page.
“Tattooing the Olympic rings for the king @kingjames Thank you for all bro ❤️ @olympics,” he captioned the post.
After skipping the previous two Olympics, James returned to Team USA this summer as a captain and team leader. He also served as one of the country’s flag bearers during the Opening Ceremonies, along with tennis star Coco Gauff.
James was the Americans’ second-leading scorer in Paris, averaging 14.2 points per game. He also led the team in assists with 8.5 per game, the second-highest output in the tournament behind Serbian superstar Nikola Jokic.
For his efforts, James was named Team USA’s Most Valuable Player. As of now, the Los Angeles Lakers star has not decided on whether he will attempt to play in the next Olympics in LA in 2028.
James will be 43 by then, but we can’t yet rule out him trying to play in the Olympics in his home nation.
