Beating Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoff may not have let Ohio State get rid of the stench of their loss to Michigan at the end of the 2024 regular season. But this absolute beatdown of Big Ten champion Oregon sure can.
With three minutes remaining in just the second quarter, Ohio State took a 34-0 lead off a Jayden Fieldling field goal. They have scored on six of seven drives to start the game, recording four touchdowns and two field goals while the Ducks have had only two drives go for more than 10 yards.
As miserable as Ducks fans are right now, Los Angeles Lakers megastar LeBron James is having the time of his life. Taking to X, LeBron called on his favorite college football team to continue the beatdown and not let up.
“KEEP IT GOING!!!! BELT TO ASS,” LeBron wrote, adding some bucknut and triumphant face emojis for added effect. His post is going viral with over 12,000 likes in just 15 minutes.

Not many people could have seen an absolute beatdown like this one coming. For starters, Oregon had beaten Ohio State on the West Coast back October, so most of us assumed the game would at least be competitive even if the Buckeyes emerged victorious.
But for Ohio State to not just be leading but beating down the Ducks worse than any team has been beaten in the College Football Playoff thus far really comes as a massive surprise.
It’s not like Oregon beat a bunch of other nobodies to get here either. In addition to beating the Buckeyes they also beat two other College Football Playoff teams in Boise State and Penn State, demolished a ranked Illinois team and the very Michigan team that humiliated Ohio State just a few weeks ago.
Of all the blowouts in the 12-team College Football Playoff’s inaugural campaign, this one is by far the most surprising.
Barring something unheard of, the Buckeyes will now go from one hostile environment to another as they take on SEC runner-up Texas in the Cotton Bowl in a few days.
And you’d better believe that LeBron James will be watching that one too.
