The Lakers will reportedly waive two-way guard Quincy Olivari, and sign center Trey Jemison to two-way deal.
Quincy Olivari’s time in Los Angeles is ending as the team is waiving the two-way guard and signing Trey Jemison III to a two-way deal.
On Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN first reported the signing of Jemison and the waiving of Olivari. The Lakers made it official after their win versus the Heat later that night.

The Lakers signed Olivari to a two-way deal after training camp due to his impressive preseason performances, including his 11-point surge versus Milwaukee, which helped secure a comeback win versus the Bucks.
Olivari also made noise in the summer for L.A. playing with the Lakers Summer League team, then returned on an Exhibit-10 deal for training camp before ultimately making the roster as a two-way player.
He quickly became a fan favorite due to his enthusiasm and love for the game and his Magic Johnson-esque charisma.
He had a viral moment when he got emotional about meeting his idol, Steph Curry, before a preseason game. Olivari went on to score a team-high 22 points in that contest and, later on, signed an endorsement deal with Curry Brand.
This season, Olivari was dominating the G League with the South Bay Lakers, averaging 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
Lakers players witnessed some of Olivari’s South Bay performances and D’Angelo Russell even went as far as to say that the guard was too good for the G League after watching the South Bay opener.
As a Laker, however, he only played in one game, a Dec. 8 win over the Blazers, where he logged just eight minutes and scored three points.
With Los Angeles having no roster space open, releasing Olivari frees up a spot and allows the Lakers to sign Jemison to a two-way deal.
Jemison gives the Lakers some much-needed size and another center they can use. He has played in the NBA for two seasons, previously playing for the Pelicans and has career averages of 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
The Lakers are now stacked with bigs on two-way deals with Christian Koloko, Armel Traore and now Jemison added on as the third and final two-way player on the roster.
