The Los Angeles Lakers are still looking to trade for a two-way forward with size before the February 5 deadline, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
The Lakers have previously been linked with Herb Jones and Keon Ellis, with the Pelicans resisting offers for Jones and Trey Murphy III.
Stein adds that the Lakers will only sacrifice this summer’s financial flexibility to acquire a “real needle-mover” at the forward position.
JJ Redick recently criticized the Lakers’ lack of defense following a blowout loss versus the Suns.
The Lakers’ tradeable first-round pick in 2031 or 2032 is also reportedly seen as less valuable following the Luka Doncic trade and Mark Walter acquiring the franchise.
