J.J. Redick and the Los Angeles Lakers have yet to reach agreement on a deal for him to become their next head coach, but that continues to be the most probable outcome.
“I know that everybody has really gotten into their feelings about this coaching search, and it has certainly been a long process, but as far as I have been told, the Lakers are still on path to hire J.J. Redick,” said Brian Windhorst on First Take on Thursday. “It is not a done deal. That’s the most important thing. Do I think it’ll be a done deal? Yes, I do. I do think there’s some negotiation that has to happen between the sides, but I expect it to come together. But, I would not make the assumption on anything because I’ve seen too much with this coaching search. As far as I know, as of what I know right now, Monty Williams is not being considered here. And so this is going to be, I guess, J.J. Redick, and I would guess relatively soon, but um don’t get ahead of yourself, just let it play out.”
The Lakers are expected to have a resolution with their head coaching search by at least the draft.
